ATHENS PE UNVEILS DR. RIZAL’S BUST

Athens. The Philippine Embassy in Athens together with the Filipino community representatives unveiled the bust of Dr. Jose Rizal at the Embassy grounds to commemorate the 115th Anniversary of the Martrydom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal on 30 December 2011. The unveiling ceremony was led by Ambassador Meynardo LB. Montealegre with members of the Filipino community in Athens and the staff members of the Embassy. The unveiling was preceded by a flag raising ceremony followed by Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat.

Arrival at Post by Third Secretary and Vice-Consul Sheila Marie C. Tario

Third Secretary and Vice-Consul Sheila Marie C. Tario arrived in Athens on 26 January 2012. Ms. Tario passed the Foreign Service Officer’s Examinations in 2005. Prior to her posting in Athens, she served in the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Office of the Personnel and Administrative Services from 2006-2008 as Concurrent Principal Assistant in the Personnel Management Division and Concurrent Acting Director in the Honorary Consuls and Service Attaches Division.

Celebration of our 113th Anniversary on the proclamtion of the Philippine Independence

The Philippine Embassy in Athens celebrated the 113th anniversary of the declaration of Philippine independence with a series of activities which included a flag-raising ceremony, an exhibit of Philippine arts and crafts and a diplomatic reception.
